CERC and the Sustainable Development Goals

Peace, justice and strong institutions are at the heart of the 2030 Agenda. CERC’s fight against corruption contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 16 – and to the goals that depend on it.

The 2030 Agenda

Achieving peace and prosperity for people and the planet is at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. It sets out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to reach by 2030.

SDG 16 aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. Since 2021, CERC has held Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and it reports to ECOSOC every four years on its contribution to the SDGs.
