Reports and information you share

You are responsible for the information you submit through our apps, forms and messages. CERC may check, moderate or decline to publish it, and may use the data, in aggregated or anonymised form, for its research, advocacy and reports to the authorities concerned.

CERC protects the identity of people who report corruption. Reporting to CERC does not replace a complaint to the police or the courts, and CERC cannot guarantee the outcome of a report. In an emergency, contact the competent authorities.

5

Messaging (SMS, RCS, WhatsApp)

CERC sends messages only to people who have contacted it or agreed to receive them: follow-up on a report, appointments, replies to your questions. The number of messages depends on your exchanges with us.

Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Our messaging services are not an emergency service.

6

Accounts

Some apps ask you to create an account. Keep your login details confidential: you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at once at info@cerc.cd if you think someone else is using it.

7

Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the texts, images, logos, reports and apps of CERC belong to CERC or its partners. You may quote and share our publications for non-commercial purposes, naming CERC as the source. Any other use needs our written permission.

8

Availability and changes

We do our best to keep our services available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that they will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, suspend or stop a service at any time.

9

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, CERC is not liable for indirect damage resulting from the use of, or the inability to use, its website, apps or messaging services, or from decisions taken on the basis of the information they contain.

10

Links to other sites

Our services may link to sites and platforms run by others (social media, partners, public authorities). CERC is not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

11

Privacy

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy policy.

12

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Changes to these terms

CERC may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with its date. If you keep using our services after a change, you accept the updated terms.
